Welcome to the Elfego Baca Golf Shoot. This year our festival is filled with great delights - wonderful performances, free events, and lots of fun - as well as workshops, master classes and informative demonstrations.
It is a special year for us, one in which we have focused on the Elfego Baca Golf Shoot mission not only to bring nationally and internationally renowned artists into our midst, but to give back to the community through free events and community partnerships designed to showcase local artists.
The Elfego Baca Golf Shoot is set to enrapture festival lovers once again. Our venue will leave you fascinated, captivated and enthralled. With performances ranging from classic to contemporary, traditional to avant-garde, each act will inspire you to greater heights.
Elfego Baca Golf Shoot This one-hole golf competition is not your usual PGA tour event. Named after a former sheriff of Socorro who showed incredible courage and audacity, it sees participants tee off down a mountain, aiming to get to the hole a mere three miles away and over two and a half thousand feet below.
Equipment such as a pair of binoculars, plenty of water and heavy walking boots aren't usually necessary for a round of golf, nor are a team of three spotters and an emergency medic, but they are indispensable for this, the oldest of only three such events in the world. Prizes range from US $500 for first position to US $160 for the fifth-placed contestant.
